Move to BC Online
When migrating from an on-premises installation of Anvaigo EDI Connect to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Online, there are two main upgrade paths. Your choice depends on whether you want to preserve only the configuration or include all historical data.
Option 1: Transfer Configuration Only
If you only need to migrate configuration settings and mappings:
- Use the Export Configuration function in your on-premises environment.
- Then, use Import Configuration in the cloud environment to transfer your mappings.
- This method is quick and ideal for clean cloud setups without historical data.
- Note: While all EDI Connect functionality is available in the cloud, not all communication channels are supported. You may need to review and adjust your configurations accordingly.
- The module versions between on-premises and cloud do not need to match for configuration transfer.
Option 2: Full Data Migration (Including Buffer Documents and Logs)
To migrate all data, including buffer tables, logs, and historical documents:
- Upgrade your on-premises Anvaigo EDI Connect installation to the latest Universal Code (UC) version of the extension.
- Depending on your current version, intermediate upgrade steps may be necessary.
- Once updated, use the standard Microsoft migration tools to transfer data to the cloud environment.
- Review and adapt communication channels post-migration, as some options may not be available in Business Central Online.
Important: If your current version is not UC-compatible, follow the guide on upgrading to Universal Code:
