Data Retention and Cleanup
Anvaigo EDI Connect supports data cleanup through configurable deletion tools. This guide outlines how to manage historical data safely and efficiently, ensuring system performance without compromising compliance needs.
Cleanup Options
Anvaigo EDI Connect offers two approaches to data deletion:
- Delete Functionality in ANVEDI Setup (Manual Configuration)
- This option must be explicitly enabled in the ANVEDI Setup.
- Once enabled, you define a free PROCESS Mapping that performs the deletion logic.
- The mapping can then be scheduled using standard job queue functionality.
- Using Built-in Retention Tools in Dynamics 365
- In newer versions of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can take advantage of built-in data retention policies instead of or alongside custom mappings.
- These tools offer more structured options for scheduled data deletion across the system.
Important Considerations
- Legal and Compliance
- We do not make assumptions about what data must be retained. Legal requirements vary by region and industry.
- Please consult your compliance team to determine retention obligations before configuring any deletion.
- Safe-to-Delete Tables
- You can safely delete entries from all ANVEDI tables, provided they are no longer needed for processing or auditing.
- This helps reduce storage load and improves system performance.
Recommended Cleanup Targets
The following ANVEDI tables are typically safe to delete when the related data is no longer required:
Table / Page | Deletion Effect |
---|---|
ANVEDI Processing Queue | Also removes entries in the ANVEDI Processing Log. |
ANVEDI Transmission | Deletes related ANVEDI Messages and any dependent Processing Queues. |
ANVEDI Document | Removes associated Lines, Contacts, and Additional Information. |
ANVEDI Business Transaction | Can be removed safely when no longer needed. Note: If you’re using the duplicate check feature on the ANVEDI Business Transaction table, deleting transactions will allow them to be re-exported. Be cautious to avoid unintended resending. |
