Upgrading the Anvaigo Mobile App to a Universial Code-ready version
What cases require a change of infrastructure?
There are several reasons that make it necessary to upgrade from an Anvaigo Legacy version to a different infrastructure.
- Planned use of BC Online (Anvaigo Legacy version is not compliant with BC Online)
- Update to BC Versions BC 22 and up (Anvaigo Legacy version is not DotNet 6 ready and therefore not compliant)
- The necessity of being universal code-compliant in order to avoid penalty fees being charged by Microsoft
- Some features may require the Anvaigo Mobile App to be Universial Code ready and are therefor not available for Anvaigo Legacy
Existing Anvaigo Legacy installations can and should generally continue to be used.
Existing Anvaigo Legacy installations can and should generally coninue to be used, as an upgrade is technically equivalent to a new installation, even though the existing setup can often be almost entirely carried over. This means that extensive testing and even device reinitialization will be necessary. These organizational measures are only worthwhile for a stable, functioning system if the existing infrastructure requires porting, f.e. in the cases mentioned above. Additionally, there may be new features available only in the newer infrastructure variants. This should be assessed before making a decision. Security updates will continue to be provided for Anvaigo Legacy.
For further information about how the infrastructure types are defined see the Anvaigo system requirement page.
When upgrading to a Universial Code-ready version of the Anvaigo Mobile App the following steps are necessary.
Infrastructure Change
When transitioning from an Anvaigo Legacy system, it’s necessary to update the Anvaigo Server. At this point, you’ll have the option to either utilize the Anvaigo Mobile App Cloud Service or maintain hosting of the Anvaigo Server on your own.
If you decide to use the Anvaigo Mobile App Cloud Service you will need to purchase a subscription license. For clients with an existing license we provide the Anvaigo Bridge to the cloud to facilitate the transition.
Porting of the Anvaigo Mobile App solution
A guide about porting your Anvaigo Mobile App solution can be found here.
Once the Anvaigo Mobile App has been ported, all devices will require reinitialization, and all mobile processes will need to undergo testing.
